What does it mean to put God first

What does it mean to put God first? When we study the word of God, God is able to speak to us in ways that we’d be able to receive and apply to our life.
In the natural when you look at a farmer when he plants his crops. There’s a process that must take place in order for him to have a harvest in due time. He has to prepare the ground and plant the seeds for the harvest that he desires. He doesn’t plant one day and go out the next day and expect a harvest.
From the time he plants the seed, until the time that the harvest appears maybe for the six months. During the time as he’s waiting for the harvest, the seed must have the proper nutrition. The ground must also have enough of moisture and this comes in form of rain.
Just as we as believers pray for something, there is a process that must take place in the natural. This look at a Scripture, that talks about believing God.
Mark 11
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
For me that’s some pretty powerful Scripture. If you look in verse 23, it talks more about saying. There is power in words. There are so many scriptures that talk about, the power of the tongue.
Proverbs 18
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
So today we really have to ask yourself, what is coming out of our mouths. Are we speaking positive words, are we speaking words of death.
Some of the things that we should be speaking over her life as children of God are the following.
I’m a winner
I can do anything that my face today
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me
I shall not be moved by what I see her I feel.
Some of the words that people speak, that are not positive are the following.
I can’t do anything right
everything I do fails
I’m a loser
I’ll never amount to anything
I’ll never change
When we speak those words, God cannot really move in our life. The reason he cannot move is, because we are not given them anything to work with.
So one of the things that you must do, if we find ourselves speaking words of doubt, is find out what you really in our heart.
There so many times when our heart will be filled with lies. This is really a deception of the enemy. Many of us may have had a lot of bad things happen to us, but our past should not determine our future.
There are things in life that happen that may not seem fair.
You may have had a bad marriage. The marriage might’ve ended in divorce. You may be facing a lot of pain and disappointment. And the pain is real. However, the only thing that is going to get you through it, is a true relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.
